Shatanese Reese is a certified emotional intelligence coach and Senior Professional in Human Resources with over twenty years of HR experience. Her career spans industries such as retail, banking and higher education. She has provided coaching and training in every role she has held during her career.
Shatanese believes coaching serves as an opportunity to partner with managers and teams to ensure their greatest potential is reached. Shatanese has coached engineers, scientists, mid-level managers and senior leaders from companies such as Georgia Tech Research Institute, Riverside EpiCenter, and Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta.
Facilitating learning is a passion of hers and her training sessions have covered topics ranging from effective performance management, talent acquisition strategies, navigating employee relations matters as well as implementation of new HR-specific systems. Shatanese partners with managers and teams to ensure their greatest potential is reached through engaging and powerfully packed workshops.
Using a wide variety of methods to reach the learner, Shatanese is known for the inclusion of role plays, group discussions, individual reflection, and other means of tapping into the various learning styles of the adult learner. She is adept with content development, targeted training modules and facilitating focused professional development opportunities for all levels of an organization. Shatanese is a certified emotional intelligence and a John Maxwell certified coach.
Shatanese obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Iowa State University and is the CEO of Shatanese Reese, LLC, an HR Consultancy which specializes in leadership development, coaching, diversity and inclusion.

In a recent New York Times article (7/7/2023), Jason Dorsey, a workplace researcher stated, “A lot of experts make it sound like you’re putting people in boxes based on their birth year, but what we want people to understand is that generations are clues, not a box." In this webcast we will explore the five generations currently in the workforce and discuss their differing priorities, communication styles and work/life balance expectations.
